A to Z Book Survey

1 COMMENT • This post is filed under: favorites, survey

Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner created the A to Z Book Survey on her wonderful blog, and a lot of people have been doing it too. I decided to put my own version of it into the mix! I hope you get some good recs from my survey!

Author You’ve Read the Most Books From:

These are the top four from my GR list: Sara Shepard, Cassandra Clare, JK Rowling, and Julie Kagawa. All wonderful, obviously.

Best Sequel Ever:

Scarlet by: Marissa Meyer. I didn’t think anything could be better than Cinder, but I was proven wrong!

Currently Reading:

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. SO unique with incredible world building. I’m talking multiple maps and charts as well as a long glossary.

Drink of Choice While Reading:

I’m mostly a water person, but I like to drink lemonade every now and then while reading.

E-reader or Physical Book?

Physical book, hands down. I love the feeling of it too much to let ebooks win this one. I only read e-ARCS on my Nook.

Fictional Character You Would’ve Actually Dated in High School:

Puck from the Iron Fey series or Simon Lewis from TMI.  Puck is hilarious every time he opens his mouth and Simon such a nerd.

Glad You Gave This Book a Chance:

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Hidden Gem Book:

Devilish by Maureen Johnson

Important Moment in your Reading Life:

Joining my elementary school book club in fourth grade. I ended up quitting, but I think that is where I began to realize my passion for books.

Just Finished:

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks. Review coming!

Kind of Books You Won’t Read:

I am planning on doing a post on this soon. Any books involving sports, zombies, horses, apocalypse. There’s probably more.

Longest Book You’ve Read:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at 870 pages.

Major Book Hangover Because of:

The Iron Knight by: Julie Kagawa

Number of Bookcases You Own:

1 huge one with six large shelves and two six foot long individual shelves.

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Preferred Place to Read:

At my desk

Quote That Inspires You/ Gives You All The Feels:

“Tell me one last thing,” said Harry. “Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?”

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”

Reading Regret:

Not reading Clockwork Princess right when I bought it. Now I’ve forgotten too much to be salvaged and have been spoiled like nobody’s business on Youtube/Tumblr.

Series You Started and Need to Finish (all books are out in series):

The Fallen series by: Lauren Kate. I need to see how this ends, I just need to.

Three of Your All-Time Favorite Books:

(Excluding HP) Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass, The Iron Knight by: Julie Kagawa, Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Unapologetic Fangirl For:

Six from The Lorien Legacies. I want to shout it from the rooftops how badass she is!

Very Excited for This Release More than All the Others:

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. I am intensely waiting for this but I am also dreading it so much, guys.

Worst Bookish Habit:

Not organizing my books in any sort of recognizable way on my shelves. I don’t know if this counts as a habit, but I am a chronic sufferer of series amnesia.

X Marks the Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood

Your Latest Book Purchase:

Game by Barry Lyga, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black, and The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker

ZZZ-snatcher Book (book that kept you up WAY late):

Requiem by Lauren Oliver. This is sort of not for the typical reason though. It kept me up how completely confusing the ending was. It wasn’t clear to me at all.

Wow, that was more fun than I thought it would be! Thanks so much, Jamie, for creating this wonderful survey!

  1. I so agree with these! I picked Simon as well, and yes to Scarlet, what a great sequel. I also love that I gave Throne of Glass a chance, so so worth it. Among my absolute favorites now.
That Dumbledore quote is amazing, he’s so great. His quotes are so awesome, love the man, even though he was portrayed as a sort of faker in the last book…
